As in the original movie, Highlander, based on characters created by Gregory Widen, this series originally airing from 1992-1998 takes place in the present, but events of the past often cause Immortals to reflect on remembered events of the past. Duncan MacLeod, born in the Highlands over 400 years ago, chooses to live quietly. His honor, his morals and ethics are battles he fights, as well as the various Immortals who seek to take his head.
